"12th time.."
Ive gone through the game 12 times now, each time Ive had a Faerie Ninja in my party, just in case the dubious Don B. should drop the CoC.
And on my 12th try it happened !!
I couldnt believe my eyes, I gave it to my my ninja right away, and he was overwhelmed too.
Then, in my next battle, it turns up red. My ninja cant use ranged anymore.
Hard to believe; all this time Ive been waiting for this drop, and I didnt know it was cursed !!
Makes me think of a faerie samurai instead, he can use Zbo and get better armor too, and also use ranged weapons, like Strong bow or Hunters bow. Only drawback I see, a samurai will miss the alchemist spells, which rocks. Of course, my ninja rocks, but I do miss his ranged efforts..

Probably why I have never had a Faerie Ninja in any of my parties. I just don't like using cursed weapons. And before anyone says anything, yes I know there are ways around it but I am too lazy and often in the middle of a battle there are no enemies at close range so your character with a cursed weapon just stands there.

2. "Ranged versus thrown items"
You can still (somehow) throw potions and powders, even thoough you can not throw weapons, such as darts or knives.

Yes, I know about the potins/powders, but I mean using a good bow or a Wristrocket. Thats what I miss..
I know the Zbo isnt as good as CoC, but you can use a ranged weapon as well, anyone tried it?
Just made a new party, this time with a faerie samurai, cuz you know for sure that the Zbo will be in the game, you never know with the CoC.
Ack...what I hate the most is starting over...with the puny spells and damage in the beginning...lol.

4. "Cane Corpus and curses"
Hmm ... my game drops it every time ...

I also keep CC in his "personal carry" stuff and only equip it for big battles, like Sorceress Queen or Nessie or Soulstealer. You can cast remove curse and then de-equip it until you need it. Remove curse can also cancel hex.

I agree, every game I played it has droped. When I used a NF I trained it for throwing bombs and powders, and when the monsters came within close range; she used the COC. The bombs & powders with do more damage to a group. (since your hitting the group) wheras a stone hits one at a time.) and even a powder that hits one can do just as good as a stone, especially if the monster has magic sheild.

Meant to say arrow shield, not magic shield.

I understand your points of view, but I'd still think arrows/stones used by a ninja is more effective. Ninja's have thrown criticals, which cant be used on bombs/powders.
And, you can carry up to 100 stones/arrows, in comparison to the bombs/powders. Medusa stones and Lightning bolts have some really good side-effects as well, which raises the chance of instakills. Depends on what you like, I guess.
Good thing is; there are so many ways to it.

8. "Throwing arrows?"
I don't think the game let's you go that far. Though darts and knives are OK. And it does weigh you down if you start lugging around a lot of stones.

He he, I meant for a faerie samurai instead of a FN. Using Zbo and Wristrocket with medusa stones.

Don't see where anyone mentioned spell casting. Have a solo FN with the cane and at distance uses fireball or the Acid Ball? attack, when they get close hits with the cane and does awesome damage. Ninjas are good casters so use the cane and cast spells, beats throwing stones.

11. "Cursed items."
Have a FN using CofC. Easiest way after battle throw Remove Curse and swap weapons. That way your range weapons are online for distance your spells are ready for diseance and close range snd when they get close and personal swap and beat booty with the CofC. Works for me.

12. "I don't think it's worth it"
The CoC may be a nice weapon, but I have never played with a faerie, let alone a ninja. They are just too weak to keep around. I always sell off the CoC for some mad money.
