"Experience Points"
Hi, I'm just playing Bane, my boys & girls are Lvl 10-11 and right now I'm beating up Skeletons in the Hall of the Dead.

Where is the best place to get lots of experience points? There are not too much 'random' fights, just the placed ones when you enter a room. I want more!
Which level can be reached when you just play the game straight (i.e. no hanging around in dungeons just to get a few more points)?
And finally, are experience point tables available?

Ciao, Grunt

PS Where to spend your money best?

The best place for XP is in the final temple. You get a fight in every room and these fights respawn. Furthermore you can obtain some goodies from the toughest ennemies (G.Demon).

I never tried it, but I think it's possible to finish the game at
level ~13. Typically more like 16-18. Haven't seen XP tables.

In my opinion cash is best spent buying stuff from Mai Lai. Esspecially arrows (barbed ones always transfer). Second choice would be potions which also transfer and can be resold for a healthy amount of money. You may also want to grab a Rod of Sprites.

When I really tried to race through, I managed to finish with most of my characters at level 12, one at 11, and I think one at 13.

WANT TO MAKE YOUR CHARACTERS WORLD BEATERS? HERE IS A GREAT TIP:
GO TO THE LEVEL WHERE THE CAPTAIN'S DEN LIES. THEN FIND THE DOOR IN WHICH YOU CAN SEE TWO CLOSED GATES. THE FIRST IS IN YOUR LEVEL OF THE FLOOR AND THE OPPOSITE GATE LIES WHERE YOU PASSED BY THE LADDER. GO NEAR THE GATE WHERE YOU CAN PASS THE LADDER (DID YOU GET IT?). YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE THERE WHEN YOU SEE THE RUNNING WATER OUTSIDE THE GATE. HOLD THE LEFT BUTTON IN WHICH YOU MAY TURN IN A CIRCULAR WAY. DO THESE UNTIL YOU ENCOUNTERED A MONSTER. BEWARE, IF YOUR PARTY ARE JUST LEVEL 11 THEN YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME BEATING THESE MONSTERS. MONSTERS RANGES FROM POISONOUS VIPERS TO HAUNTS THAT CAN STEAL YOUR STAMINA, PUT A POISON ON YOU, PARALYZE YOU, TURN YOU TO STONE OR EVEN PUT A CRITICAL BLOW(STRIKE) ON YOU. EVEN IN THE EASY SETTING YOU MAY BE HAVING A HARD TIME BEATING THESE MONSTERS. IT MAY BE QUITE BORING BUT YOU MAY GET COOL ITEMS AND CAN MAKE YOUR EXPERIENCE POINTS HIGHER. WELL, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.

BY THE WAY, I DISCOVERED IT WHEN I WAS HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING MY WAY IN WIZARDRY. SO LONG GUYS...

I also use this trick to get some experience and items. The lower gate leads you to the mines. The higher gate is the northern exit of the wood. You will get the hell of a fight but the rewards are up to 11000 Experience (per character - on easy level) ankhs/wands of any kind, scrolls, ninja suits/weapons and even rings of speed or peacemakers.

If you reach the wood the normal way (after finishing the Isle of Dead) level 10-11 is quite enough if you got the equipment from the four Guardians and/or Mei-Lei.
For getting experience points I'd prefer to go to the wood as soon as possible to get exp. and very good items. I stay at the Styx or Isle of Dead only long enough to reach a level high enough to beat the guardians (lvl.10 for the samurai lvl. 8-9 for the others) and to get enough money to buy some nice stuff from Mei-Lei.

By the way, my party reached level 50 to 60 so the guardian rock or the wizard of the king is a piece of cake in beating them.
