"How does the Warlock identify items?"
One of my mages made it to warlock over the weekend. I was pretty excited by this because the identify item charge at the mage shop is really expensive. However, I can't figure out how to make him identify items. He has the trait but cannot use it. The manual says it's supposed to be used where the dragon breath button is, but I cannot seem to switch it. Anyone help me with this?

The manual is wrong, the Dragon's Breath button will never do identifying.

The first thing you need to do is train in the artifacts skill when you level.

When you view items that character has, there'll be another selection for that item.. that selection being identify (mixed in with group, drop, read, all those fun things).

I looked for the skill when I leveled...could not find it. Also, when viewing items in his inventory, I don't see the identify skill. I'll check again tonite.

3. "I think you have to be in town to identify"
I am not sure, I would have to check the manual.

4. "Identify anywhere ..but where?!"
You can identify anywhere. I haven't gotten a warlock yet (don't plan to until my second time through) so I don't know how he works. With my priest, I had to wait for the ancient lore training to be over with before the skill would show up in my level up list.

Well, ok. Now the question becomes how do you train in ancient lore? Does my warlock have to shell out $500 to join the priest guild? I see no training for my warlock in ancient lore when he levels...this is ridiculous.

PS Can priests identify items? I did not know that.

6. "RE: Identify anywhere ..here's how:"
1. join the priest's guild - a one time fee of $500.
2. enter the guild, and train your character in the ancient lore trait.
3. level up to the next level.
4. go back to the priest's guild, and train your character in the identify item skill.
5. level up to the next level.

after fulfilling all of these requirements, your character should be able to right click on an unidentified item in his or her inventory and choose identify item. depending on your skill level, you may or may not successfully identify the item.

ps - if anyone disagrees with the above, please set me straight!
