"savegame function in Bane"
Hi,

I am just about to begin a new session of Bane of the Cosmic Forge using DosBox. I have set my C: drive to c:\ with DosBox and the save file path in the game is set to C:\Bane. However, when I try to save a game, I get a message: "Please enter save game disk into drive C:". So I can't seem to save any games from within Bane.

Can anybody help with this? Many thanks,

Sir Thomas

The SAVEGAME DRIVE option should just read a name for your savegame. You don't need a path in that box.

I didn't know that you could change the name for the savegame...I thought it has to be "savegame.dbs", especially in W6.
In W7 it worked, of course...

I had such problems, too - whatever directory/path I put in there, it didn't work.
My solution was:
changing the path to a:\, putting an old floppy in the drive and letting the game do whatever it wanted to. Actually it didn't use that floppy, the savegame was stored in some odd directory on my harddisk (like "wiz-cd\w6").

I suggest making a new directory in your Bane folder, i.e. SAVE, mounting this as drive A: (with “mount a c:\game\bane\save”), and configuring drive A: as the save folder (in the "Game Configuration" menu). This way it works.
