"Monastery Glitch...?"

"Monastery Glitch...?"
The Glitch Thread got me thinking: There is a lengthy walkway with a railing to get to Burz in the Lower Monastery. Beneath that is the water that will lead you back to the beach. One time (but never again) I was able to walk through the railing at the point closest to Burz - basically where the walkway ends (*not* at the point where there is a piece of the railing missing). I landed on a small ledge just above the water in the cave and there were a few hidden items on that.

I was not interested in saving that game as my characters were such a low level that more than one died from the fall (they did take damage), and I was never able to duplicate going off the railing there. So, does anyone know how to get to that ledge? Are there other ledges there to get to?

I had that happen while beta testing, but was never able to reproduce it. I was "running" and bumping along the edge of the rail ... then sploosh! I was in the water .. right through the railing ... I guess it gave way

Two items can be found and reached while the party wades in the water. Nothing very special.

It is the wooden walkway between Burz and the monastery (over where the Tanika fish are).

Let me rephrase:

I understand that this ledge is past the railing where Burz is. However, is this ledge anywhere near where the waterfall from the river in the cave comes out?

It is at the point which is the closest to Burz. So yes, I believe that is toward the waterfall on that level rather than toward the inside bridge which can take you over the water to the weapons to be used against Al-Sedexus.

Also, as Llevram states above, the one time I went through the bridge I was running, too. I could not search and get these items from being in the water. If I remember right, you can't even see the top of the landing when you are standing next to it in the water. I also recall that these items were nothing special, but I wanted to know if it could be reproduced or if there were other spots (maybe landings) here where you can get better stuff.

Glad somebody else was able to do this at some point. I didn't think it could be a complete glitch if they bothered to put items there, but you never know.

You can get to the waterfall that leads out of the monastery and back to the beach by walking off the edge on the lower level, near the water .... or at the end of the railing above, where the last section is missing (taking damage from the fall).

...But usually you don't need to do it, there are safer spots for entering the water. I have once saved the party's butt by jumping down from that spot. I think it happened in the Deathstalker's mod as far too powerful monsters were generated.

A few times I have been able to search that ledge from below and get a shield and something else. I never tried to get to it from above. Maybe tonight.

Isn't there a glitch where you can move Burz into the Upper Monastery where the giant bell is?
And I don't think there are any more platforms you can walk on.

Once I got in a fight at the bottom of the ramp that leads into the big hall in the lower monastery (right where you can go the other direction to the water fall) - it was a fight that was lasting several rounds. After about the 5th round - Burz showed up and started helping me! I was like woah - that's a long ways for him to move to help in a fight.

After the battle he stayed there.. was kind of funny.

He has been known to move to help you out in fights that are nearer to him with more regularity.

Once I went back to the Monastery with a high-level team (around level 20) and I met Burz walking down the hallway. He eventually stopped at the bottom of the ramp that leads up to the first room in the Lower Monastery.

I have no clue how he could cross the map-page boundary without the help of Mad God's editor.

I've seen several weird things with Burz:

1.) I've gotten him to fight gregor by luring gregor downstairs and then running a lot.

2.) After getting him to kill gregor OR after gregor runs away, I've been blocked by Burz on that narrow ledge path.

I've never experienced the glitch fall though, and now I'm curious about these 'hidden' items. I will definitely check it out.
