"No Monster Sounds"
Hey, odd problem with my game. I can hear any sounds that occur within the party (i.e. the enemy spellcasters casting frost on my people). I can't hear sounds that occur outside of my party (like monster's cries of pain or a hypnotic lure's sound). Anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks for any information!

If I reinstall the game and neglect to "test sound" at the setup screen, some sounds effects don't appear.

Ahh...that did the trick. I re-ran the set-up and tried the "Test Sound" option for all the different sounds. Luckily some of them came back with a "device initialized" message. That seemed to do the trick. Thanks!

HA! I've wondered why that occurs. Thanks for the answer!

I'm glad I could help and have the forum to do so. BTW, times really have a-changed (I'm so old I like to do some reminiscing). When W7 came out, there was one magazine dedicated to gaming in my country. Of course I wanted to share my wisdom about how one survives in the game... but my writings never appeared on the hints and tips pages of the magazine... So, at least some things in the world are getting better.
