"Batman VS Dark Savant"
Hi! I'm new to the forums and fairly new to Wizardry 8,
although I started long ago with Wizardry 1 on the NES,
which I beat with a party of two Gnome Ninjas (one half cleric and one half mage).

Since the release of the portrait editor, I expected to see a large collection of portraits. Did I miss them, or is Samurai Jack the only one ever released?

Being a huge fan of customization in all games, I made my first custom portrait of Batman with speech animations. My idea was not only for a portrait, but for additional fun being able to fit a character foreign to Wizardry 8 into the game. Batman is a great candidate as he easily falls into the "male human ninja/gadgeteer" category and can be played using only hands and feet for close range and throwing weapons for long range, like the real Batman.

You can download the zip file from Nepteus's Wizardry 8 Stuff. I just made the website today just to make the portrait available.

Please let me know what you think!

Ideally, I would like to be able to edit the sound files as well to use actual Batman sound clips, but playing as Batman is fun anyway. I am playing him solo now and between my 40 hour/week job and 8 hour/weekend job and having lots of fun.

In the future, I would like to release an extensive portrait pack of characters foreign to Wizardry 8 that can role played the same way Batman can.

1. "Wow .. nice work"
Good to have some "new blood" as well ... speaking about mods and such, I'd like to know how to record my own voice to overlay the character voices ...

Welcome aboard!

2. "Voice recording"
I could make the 'Assign a new sound file to the PC replic' functionality in the editor if anyone is really interested in it.
Though it is easy to figure out how to do it manually.

I think it would be cool to have a party made up of characters from the TV Firefly. Mal could be a loner rouge, Jayne would be a chaotic/agressive fighter, Zoe would be a (unknown) Valkyrie, Simon would be an intellectual alchemist, River would be an eccentric ninja/psionic mix, Book would be a kindly(maybe?) cleric, Katie would be a kindly gadgeteer, Inara would be an intellectual monk, and I don't know what Wash would be, a kindly gadgeteer as well, maybe eccentric? Are there any other Firefly + Wizardry fans out there that might offer suggestions? I think I might try this. How do I get a portrait editor? And yes, sound editor would be a must, it would be great to insert various lines from the TV show for each character . Heck, while we're at it, how about a way to edit the music score? Then I could use the Firefly soundtrack! (Furthermore, if anyone knows how to get sound files off of a DVD and onto a computer, and could tell me, as well as how to manually edit the sound files, I would be greatful).
