analander (145 posts) Oct-05-00, 07:11 PM (Pacific) "Lockup/Freeze in D3D Mode" GeForce 256, latest drivers & DriectX, etc. And don't tell me it's the Virtual Memory when I have 512MB RAM. Repeatable bug where the screen freezes forcing reboot in D3D mode. I switched back to "software" mode and am not having the same problems. Other board postings report similar situations. Funny thing is, on the lower resolution it actually looks better because it is sharper and not blurred by the magnified resolutions (or maybe that's just the cognitive dissonance setting in).
