"Wiz6 personal skills"
Hi,
just replayed Bane after several years, with intent of importing party trough all sequels.

What I remembered from early days and tried, there are some vacant bytes in the skills section of character memory. I had a look and voila, there are personal skills in Wiz6 ! I did some search on this excellent group, but nowhere was to be found an answer...

Is there any way to get these trough proper gameplay, not cheating? Or perhaps trough cheating but not hexediting (I mean like you can NPC talk with Rebecca?).

Thanks!

1. "Unimplemented features"
I think we've had posts on this, before, but it has been a very long time (if ever).

Yes, the personal skills - and also, I believe, swimming - reside in the empty series of bytes (bits?) in the skills. I have tried hexediting them up and found that (a) they have no effect in the game (i.e., you cannot use them in any way in Bane); and (b) they do NOT import to CODS (i.e., you must regain them through the appropriate means in CODS.

There is no way to acquire these skills in Bane. People have vestigial organs (think: appendix); software has unimplemented features.

2. "RE: Unimplemented features"
Thanks! With all the hidden coding and alternates and features of the Wizardry, I didn't know if it was just an unimplemented or a well hidden intended feature...
