There are no limits to the heights of power your characters can attain (at least I've never heard of anyone reaching it).

Sky's the limit, as far as I know. Level 284 sounds a little silly (character editor, perhaps?), to even me, who taught every character every spell (plus no RIPs, low age, etc.):

And that took awhile for those levels.

On tangent, in Bard's Tale III on the Apple, your hit points display capped at 9999, although you could gain more than that (take damage and it would stay at 9999). I discovered this becuase you could, before the final trip to Malefia, return to the old man and all of the God's items, but with one newly created character, and receive over and over again the bonus experience for finding each item.

I see you befriended the entire Boltac family -- presumably to swindle them out of the fortune their daddy made through his monopoly on the Wizardry economy...

actually, on the super nes version of wiz 5,I would simply get to a very high level.(fighting in hell)then I would kill the laughing kettle,Get hoards of experience, revive him and start all over again.when a character reached about level 50 I would send him alone to the kettle and gain about 500,000 xp.I spent about 6 months getting my fighter to level 256.Then I changed him to a samurai and got him to level 284.It's not really that hard!all it takes is time.(and reseting the game a lot)he was my baddest character.(his name was aaknor)

LAST EDITED ON Jun-03-04 AT 09:51 PM (Pacific)

Either 999 or 65,535 (in which case the numbers would probably be displayed incorrectly.).
