"Serpent Temple and Krueg"
One thing about W&W is you can get easily confused. I have so many quests, jobs, and dialogs that I can't remember it all. I know I have talked with alot of NPC's about the serpent temple and I recall someone telling me about Krueg. Of course, when I got to the serpent temple and ran into him, I forgot what I was supposed to do. I searched all my dialogs (very tedious, could definately use a word search option here) and found nothing. Can someone tell me what I am supposed to do with him. Is he part of a quest or a job? I thought it was the gypsie that told me about him but I can't remember.

For fun I made him mad by asking about people. He attacked me so I killed him in one shot! Of course I quit game no saved.

Thanks for the help.

Jay

I did not have a quest or job associated with Krueg. When I met him I agreed to a task, Joined the Serpent Bowling League....something, I forget. Anyway, the three doors in the room where he was in wouldn't open. After I completed Serpent Hold task (I guess I completed it. Kill large blob, get small figurine) and returned, he attacked me. After I killed him, I found the the three doors in the room now open and off I went to other areas of the temple.

Thanks Marc.

I read a post on another board that he has some job for you to do, but that is not what I was looking for. I might just kill the ol fool. Better to be safe than sorry. Of course if he attacks you after you do his task, then I have no other choice do I?

Thanks again. I will keep looking through my conversations. Hopefully I am not mixing up the conversations I have had in the game with the ones I have read in posts............my memory is fading quickly.

Killing him won't impact your game. Get all the info from him that you can, then put him out of his misery (he worships a snake! though the high priestess was cute..).

His death IS required, to get those doors open.

4. "*Spoiler*"
You do not need to kill Krueg.

*Spoiler*

Complete the task for him and return to him
give him the key he gave you, he will talk a bit
then the doors open

It were the gypsies who gave you the quest to get Kreug's serpant wand for them in exchange for the orb of clarity.
You need the orb for the third wizard quest in Valeia.
Anyway, you'll find the staff in the temple library and should return it to the Gypsies so you're finally done with the first town's subquests.

Thanks everyone for the info. It was very helpful.

I decided to spare his life. (Tough decision. I really itchen to kill him.) Of course, the next challenge is trying to not kill all the serpent worshipers I keep running into.

Has anyone done the serpent Temple by all out killing everyone? Has anyone heard any draw backs to doing it this way? I would think that it would be alot of experience points which makes it tempting.

I massacred the Serpent Temple denizens (in fact, I have to do it again because I joined the rogue guild with my two rogues AFTER the quest).

The high priestess was cute, but damned if she kept killing me and anyone that keeps killing me, I destroy.

I don't believe there will be ANY side-affects.

..and about Kreug's death being required.. I guess we're seeing just how many paths there are in the game <grins>

I never knew about any quest from him, he just started attacking me because I was asking too many questions.

He wanted like 1,000 in gold from me and wasn't too happy when I didn't have that. He started some tirade about me needing a bath, or to be cleansed ... he didn't last long after he started making comments about my hygiene

Well, Llevram, now that you mention it, a lot of us have been meaning to talk to you about this whole hygiene thing.
