"dying from old age"
At what age characters start dying?
I'm starting to worry about my mage (former priest) who is now 56. He knows all spells and I definitely do not want to lose him. Are there any items in wiz1 that can drop your age?

You are real lucky that he hasn't kicked the bucket yet. His spell casting ability, should not be so great, after all he is feeble.

There is nothing in Wiz1 that will drop your age, but you can purchase Rick's "Wiz1Edit"(tm) and modify the age yourself. I recommend this product for that purpose.

No such items -- you can, however, if you have Wiz2, transfer your characters into that and find the pool that has many different effects, one of which is to drop your age... I'm not sure of its exact location, but you can probably find a walkthrough somewhere (if you're really stuck, I can check on the location for you).

There is some stone ?luck or ?load or ?vitality - I forget which will lower your age upon invokation. By the way, don't change classes or your guy will be dead!

There is however such an item in Wiz 2, and it's fairly common (especially if you use the character duping trick, dunno if that's possible in UWA) -- check the usual hint sites. Transfer some characters into Wiz 2 (watch out, they lose all their items), and wander around level 1 until you get the right stone. Dupe it umpteen times (each stone only reduces age by one year!), collect a big pile of stones, then transfer your 56-year-old and have him use them all. You can then transfer him back...

There's also an age-reducing item in Wiz 3, but it's less common, and Wiz 3 reduces your characters to level 1 when you import them, so that's not advisable.
