"Thief????????"
I've played this game many times........ I plan on taking a thief this time through. It is the 1st time that I notice that the thief gets the oratory skill. Why????? I don't think he has any magic, if not what else is it used for? Thanks

1. "RE: Thief????????"
call it a fluke, or oversight.
pherhaps Sir-tech thought of adding basic spells to their arsenal, and decided against it, but forgot to remove that, as a fighter doesn't have it.
no biggie.
it's no use for a thief, unless you plan on class changing. but, after the other physical skills (Swimming, Climbing, and Scouting?) like Skullduggery and Legerdemain have maxed out, you can then have another place to put the level up points (thief gets highest Physical points every level up, and those levelups are speedy)
do take care, though, as any character in the 4,5,6th positions can only attack with short range weapons if they "guard" or hide.
and, if they hide, they have to have an extended, Thrown, or Long Range weapon, to get the secondary attack (odd, yes, t'is a bug)
most obvious with thieves and bards, as they can handle baselards, and hide.
A thief will certainly make the first quarter of the game a whole lot easier, see a chest? thief takes 5 seconds to open it.
You are only as brave as the challenges you take on
