"Emulated Wizardry 5 question"
I was able to a get an Apple II computer emulator, and copies of Wizardry's I-V from this site, I believe.

http://www.lava.net/~jh/wizardry/emu.html

Has anyone else done this?

When I run my copy of Wizardry V, I notice that I can't use my Equip feature! I can do all of the other things, but Equip simply refuses to do anything. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a solution?

If you don't get an answer here, you might try emailing the guy at that site. His email is at the top of the page: http://www.lava.net/~jh/wizardry/

And I got a failure notice. Looks like his email address is outdated. I await anyone else's advice.

How about trying Wizardry 5 from the Ultimate Wizardry Archives and running it in Dosbox (a DOS emulator)?

You can download good copies from here:

ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/images/games/rpg

Also there are 3 Wizardry scenarios based on the Wizardry 1 game engine here on my site:

http://www.zimlab.com/wizardry/

The Wizardry 1 from the Ultimate Wizardry Archive has a major leveling bug in it, you would be better off with Apple II version which on top on not having that bug it has 16 colours instead of the 4 colours of the IBM version.

Thanks, but I don't have Power Archiver. Why couldn't he have made zip files instead? Is there anyway you know of to get the same files in what for me is a more accessible form?

Cool! Thanks! I'll see if I can give those a try.

How were they based off of the Wiz 1 game engine? Do they use the very same engine, or is this a speculative recreation of the engine?

Fortunately, my Apple emulated copy of Wiz I works great. Just like old times! I only have problems with Wiz V and Wiz IV that I know.

No need for power archiver, this is a straigh download from a ftp site, just use WinZip and/or WinRar to decompress.

Exact same engine, only the content is changed by either directly editing the bytes for some tasks and using other special programs to make editing the bytes a lot easier for other tasks.

Everything is on the ftp site mentionned above, but if you plan to create a scenario be ready to spend hundreds of hours doing it.
