"Wizardry 5 shop"
I play the SNES version of Wiz 5, and the strongest weapon available at the shop is the Sword of Fire. I just looked at the Item list on this site, and there are much more powerful weapons, and they have a price - so i should be able to buy them. For every type of equip, also, i noticed i never saw most of them in the game.

Is there another town than the one above ground? or simply a shop somewhere down there? I mostly played until it was time to go down the elevator (the first level looks so much better than the rest. its so dark, i love it. the rest looks futuristic)

So...where is all the good equipment?

Thanks

1. "Different items is not unusual"
... between different platforms. There is kind of the same thing with Wiz 1 - some items in the original version were gone or changed in the PC version.

So, maybe the item lists are different for SNES and PC.

i guess so..it doesnt make sense though, to remove weapons from a game - how could i possibly beat the game with 3 swords of fire..

oh well. im better off not playing it anyway, i have good memories of the game.

but thanks for answering, i just realized the board isnt too active :/

3. "Everything has a price, but you can't buy everything :)"
I think your conclusion is wrong when you say that if an item has a price, it can be bought. I've never played Wizardry 5, but according to every Wizardry I HAVE played, you certainly can SELL most items (therefore they have a price), but you can BUY only a limited selection of items. As it is in Wiz 1-3 and 6-7, you will find the best weapons and armour in the darkest dungeons and, if you wish, sell them to a Shopkeeper, but it wouldn't make any sense if you could buy the famed long lost Dragon Slayer +15 there.

So if you can't buy some items, it doesn't say they aren't there.

I believe in W5 Boltac has an unlimied supply of standard items, of which Sword of Fire is the best (and most expensive). He will also keep, for sale, any items that you trade in to him, in the same quantaties.

Hope that makes sense.

And, as I'm becoming fond of saying to fellow Diablo players, if you want good free items, well, mosters drop free items...

yes, Wiz 1 and 2 made it to the NES, seperate carts (no transfering characters)
Wizardry 1,2, and 3 all made it to the Super Famicom, courtesy of Nintendo Power. all 3 are on 1 single cartridge, and allows transferring characters (and has better graphics than nes versions)
it was translated by some fans, and can be downloaded, though I will not disclose it's location.
Wizardry V was released in both USA and Japan, and NP gave it an average review, saying it's only true bad point was outdated graphics.

Almost all the posts you posted to, were from 2 or more years ago.
That would explain why the link was dead...

I'm aware of how ancient these threads are. And, the link was dead not long after he originally posted it.
