"problem transferring from bane"
hey all. spent several days looking for answer, not finding it, so i am posting for help.
anywho, played the game bunches and trying to run a team through all three. so i got these abandonware versions with the dosbox already loaded and what not, and played through bane, had a nice party, good times right? right. well besides the saving problem which i just worked out yesterday, i cant seem to get it to load in CotDS.
i have copied it six ways from sunday and wizedit it as well, still not good. i have changed names, and i understand about directory addresses and changing directories.
I have also installed bane and savant from my archives cd, deleted the other versions after copying the save files. i was thinking the version i downloaded was screwed up or something, and playing it in my own dosbox set up, it works fine and i can run the savegames from the other. still no luck, and i cant seem to transfer them from savant to 8 either. so, with that being said, are there any suggestions?
btw, i think i am supposed to leave some technics for the engineering types, sooo...
running xp with 3G ram. got an asus engt 430 video card. i always leave the sound off so my audio shouldn't matter right. its an asus/amd homebox type build.

I'm assuming you read through the suggested reading from the lobby announcment: http://www.softwarespecialties.com/cgi-bin/rpgforum/dcboard.cgi?az=read_announcements

... and that doesn't help. I have never used DosBox, or abandonware versions, so may not be of much help either. I know the saved game files, under normal circumstances, can just be copied to and fro, and even emailed and saved across versions (like Mac version -> emailed -> downloaded on Windows .. edited -> emailed back to Mac) ... so woudl think that if you can find where ever it is your saved games files are located, and just copy them from Bane to CODS, then CODS might be able to import from there?

Same with CODS -> Wiz 8 ... copy saved game from CODS to folder where saves are stored in Wiz 8.
