"The "100 in all skills" error."
LAST EDITED ON Oct-03-08 AT 07:43 AM (Pacific)

Like a bunch of other people, after I finished the game(finally) I decided to play it over again with one character. When the original wizardry 7 came out I was only 1, and when wizardry gold came out I was 5, but I remember playin it at 5 anyway lol... But anyway all these years later I bought another copy, beat it, and decided to play through it with one character.

It's surprisingly easy, as you get so much XP you level ridiculously fast... But now, I have a level 70 Fairy Ninja with -27 AC wielding a cane of corpus and a rod of sprites.. But he maxed out in his physical skills.

He gets sometimes millions of Xp per battle he goes up sick fast. I downloaded the patch, but I instantly crashed whenever I try to run it. I'm using windows xp home edition.

This is annoying as hell not being able to play this guy.. I spend 2 weeks playing all day, and made him into a god that can do hundreds of damage per turn and paralyze/crit 50% of his hits... This is just really pissin me off. How can I fix this????

EDIT: I found the easiest solution is to get the character editor and just lower a skill a bit so it doesn't max out everything once the character levels. This is still annoying ad I shouldn't have to do that... Suggestions are still open if there's a better solution.

1. "You need to apply the patch"
... that's the only way you are going to fix the 100 in all skills bug. Does it crash when you open the downloaded .zip file? Or when you run the extracted .exe file?

If it's the .exe file, what error is it giving you?

When I run the file it gives me the oh so common "WIZARD.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." error message.

Not sure what to tell you ... if it is the right size and in the right place, it should work just like the .exe it was replacing ...

I assume you got the patch from my site ... I'll try adn verify its validity later today/tonight.
