"Being Diseased..."
Did you know that there is a 1% chance that a diseased character...
gets severely (255) paralyzed or blinded or poisoned (poison Strength +1d2) or veggified or nauseous or cursed
AND has 10% chance of losing 1 point of a random attribute
AND has 10% chance of losing 1d3-1 MAX HP.

This check (the calculation of percentage and the bad consequences if 1% is generated) happens every 10 minutes of resting (48 times during the full 8-hour rest) and from time to time when you walk in the game (don't know how frequently, but it happens along with mana increase).

Keep you characters healthy. ;)

Nice to know! Well, the text in the manual was scary enough for me to cure it as soon as it occurs.

It says, if a character is not cured before death, he might die again right away after he is ressurected. But how does a character die from disease? Does it just happen when the max HP or VIT drop to 0?

No, a character may die due to poisoning occured because of the disease (poisoning lowers current HP from time to time). Max HP and attributes cannot drop to zero because of the disease - there are checks in the code to prevent it.
