"RECHARGEABLE ITEMS"
Among the items that can be used or invoked, which items are rechargeable and which are not, and for which versions of Wizardry 7? I use Wizardry 7 from the Wizardry Archives for DOS.

1. "RE: RECHARGEABLE ITEMS"
Generally speaking, all spell functions are rechargeable, but "invoke" functions are not. For example, an item like the thermonuclear pineapple (Nuclear Storm level 6) CAN be recharged (by casting a Recharge spell at a level at least equal to the level of the spell cast by the item: 6, in this case, as the pineapple casts its spell at level 6). On the other hand, the ability of Mantis Gloves to increase dexterity when "invoked" CANNOT be recharged. (The same goes for other items that increase other attributes or hit points.)

That has been my experience using CODS from the Wizardry Archives.

Be sure to save game before recharging. The recharge spell has 10-20% chance of destroying the item when you recharge it. I'm guessing at the percent, but it does happen. But a Thermal Pineapple with 90 charges is a nice Christmas present.
