As Interplay(tm) owns the rights to the first 7 Wizardrys. It is not listed as abandonware anymore. You can check out Ebay, for a old copy that someone is trying to get rid of. The prices are very reasonable. Heck, you could even get the UWA for really cheap too. I have seen the Archives sold for under $10 before. The reason he isn't interested in the other Wizardrys is that other than 1,6 and 7, they all suck. 2,3,4,5 are pretty boring games.
