I'm a big fan of the New City monster generator(black wafer) although once you get into the 40th level, the XP aren't as impressive. Entering the headquarters without orders in Ukpyr is also great XP; is this the "ukpyr reset" I've heard about? Also, someone mentioned a monster generator in Orkogre castle that I don't think I've been to. Lastly, what items can I use Recharge on? I can't seem to use it for anything. The most recent thing I tried was the sword of four winds, so that I could invoke even more HP, but it keeps saying failure(although I believe it was actually destroyed at one point). Lastly, I found an old savegame with only 3 characters(Valkyrie, Samurai and Ninja; all have changed professions repeatedly) that seems to be a lot easier to manage than siless spellcasters to be hit; as well as twice the XP). sphynx (14 posts) May-18-07, 00:10 AM (Pacific) 1. "RE: A few other things..." OrkOgre's monster generator is in the catacombs beneath the prisons cells. Once you've opened the trap door in the prison cell and dropped down, you're stuck until you can defeat the Spirit of <Forgot his name>. They put a monster generator there to let you XP up to a level that you can beat him (or you'd be stuck down there forever. To use it, just walk around in a circle in there (the dungeon is a big circle with a few branch-offs.) Every time you complete a circle you reset the monster generator. Recharge works with things like Amulet of Life, or anything that isn't a scroll, and casts a spell actually. But, the more powerful the spell/item, the harder it is to cast. You need a skill of about 100 to even use it, and a level of about 20 to be effective on the weaker items. However, I only play Gold, never played the Dos version, and haven't played the original CoD since Gold came out.   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Recharge: Actually, I believe you just need to be at a high enough level to cast "recharge" at a level equal to the level of the spell the item casts: If the item to be recharged casts a spell at 3rd level, the character doing the recharging must be 8th level, so s/he can cast a 3rd level "recharge" spell, and so on. Thaumaturgy or Theology of at least 90 is required to learn Recharge. To my knowledge, only spells can be recharged.
