As usual, http://www.angelfire.com/magic2/madgod/.
There search for 'mod' substring.

It was there yesterday.
Though it is not very noticable - don't have much time to make the site eye-candy...

Hi MG,

Is there an easy way to tell if I am playing your modded version? I replace the original files from CODS DOS/CD with your version, but it appears the same (at least when starting a new game)...

How can I tell its working properly?

cheers.

You could search for the new "areas". Walk towards New City. Just before the walled area begins, there is on the left side of the road a small "niche" in the forest. Or search the forest trail leading to the shore and to the Map. You might find a new clearing there...

Well, actually, right now, I regret I have not changed the game radically so it is everywhere noticable that the game has changed.
I left many things intact. This was a pilot project.
Added few NPCs. Added few monsters. Added some items. Added few locations. Almost every monster now can drop something.

In conclusion: if you like to just replay CODS this mod will be the thing you should really try. ;)
But if you want everything to be different then you have to wait for another one to be made.

Sorry, can't really see the areas described by Emerald. Could someone tell me one of the names of the new monsters?
Cheers.

I have played only to Orkogre - But you know the starting point of the game? Southwest from there, just beside it, you should see yellow walls. There aren't any in the original game.

It's simple: In the mod at the very beginning when you get message "Walking through the trees, you suddenly stop... A torrent..." you'll have this message end with "You startled at the sudden noise!" phrase and got to fight with either 'Hog Beetles' (when starting near Nyctalinth, 'Rattkin Thieves' (when starting near Ukpyr) or with 'Glow Moths' (when starting near New City).

Unmodded game does not have these fights.

It would be cool if you could have a message when you start out:

"Welcome to the Mad God Mod!"

Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

Unfortunately this is not very easy: text database in W7 is limited in size and in order to add new text you have to do a lot of things and then have to check that some other things weren't broken.
Currently I have no time for this, sorry.

Does this mod work with Wizardry Gold? I'm all about the ol' school DS game, but the automap in Gold completely spoiled me.

No. And I don't have time to port it to GOLD right now. Sorry.
