"Stamina..."
I was always under the impression that it affected chance to hit/penetrate, or at least affects the damage. One of the other threads says that it doesn't make a difference to chance to hit. If thats the case, then what does stamina affect? Just simply how often you can attack before you run out?

As a side note its nice to see these forums have some action again. I'm sure I'm not known here but I've been lurking and checking them almost every day for a good year now. What a great game, and awesome boards too!

1. "RE: Stamina..."
Yes, it indicates how long you can go and how active you can be before requiring rest. I've tested efficiencies against pre-determined monsters (locations where the monster is always the same) at minimal stamina and maximum stamina. Combat was never affected by the levels of stamina.

Stamina does affect combat.

Having current stamina drained more than 50/66/75/90% of the maximum stamina incurs following penalties (respectively):

ToHit suffers 5/10/20/40 penalty.
AC (both evasion & anti-penetrate) suffers 0/1/2/4 penalty.

Ah, useful information, as always, MG.

I assume this is true in Bane, as well?

And while we're on the subject of gems of knowledge that you know, I don't suppose you've ever decoded how the game determines attribute points at level up? I know it's largely random. Otherwise, there'd be no point in reloading to get a better result, but I cannot shake the feeling that race or class or both seem to have some influence in which attributes are favored. And I've no idea how the game decides how many attribute points to award, except that CODS appears much more generous in this regard than Bane.

In Bane? Probably, yes.

Attribute increase algorithm:
1. You get increase of random attribute if it is < 18 and this attribute has not been increased at this level up.
2. 50% chance to quit increasing attributes, otherwise repeat step 1.

There are no race or class influence, sorry. )
