"Where can I get a fresh dungeon? (Apple 2 emulator on Mac OS X)"
Greetings, all.

So I'm sitting comtemplating which new Mac to buy, as they vary in amounts of VRAM. I want to keep costs down, but darnitall if all those first-person-shooters like Doom 3 don't eat up VRAM voraciously. Then I remember how fun it was playing Proving Grounds on the ol' Apple //e way back in the day, and it occurs to me: Who needs fancy graphics? Wizardry rocks!

So I've managed to find some Apple 2 emulators for my Mac OS X 10.3 machine, and I've managed to find some disk images of the two Proving Grounds disks that will work with the emulators. So far so good.

However, the Wizardry images I find are all of played dungeons, all emptied out (and Making a New Scenario Disk just makes an extra disk to store characters, it doesn't make a fresh dungeon, right?). So does anyone out there know where I can get a fresh copy of Proving Grounds that'll work with an Apple emulator? I don't necessarily expect it for free. Heck, I even wonder if it's possible to contact Andrew Greenberg or Robert Woodhead and ask them. And what about that Ultimate Wizardry Archives? Is that for Mac or what?

Thank you in advance, and may days be merry and bright, and may all your Tiltowaits be white (white with white-hot light from the explosion that's wasting the monsters, of course).

1. "Cross-emulating"
The Ultimate Wizardry Archives contain the DOS games (Wizardry 1-7) and Wizardry Gold as a Windows game.

In the DOS version, there's a Wiz1.com, a Wiz1.dsk and a Save1.dsk file. If you delete the Save1.dsk file, you can start the game over. I'd guess that the Apple game file structure is similar.

By the way, Dosbox runs the DOS versions fine. There's also a MacOS X Dosbox version available on the site, so you should be able to get at least the DOS version of Wizardry to run.
