admin (124 posts) Jan-18-00, 06:02 PM (Pacific) "How's the speed/access time?" This is one of my biggest concerns. I'm pretty sure I've got enough disk space and bandwidth alloted to my site to accommodate the posts and traffic it will generate, but how fast the traffic is flowing is a whole 'nuther' issue. I've noticed sometimes, a page here and there take a while to load (at home on 56K and even at work on a T1). It's on the internet and sometimes the whole internet is just slow and I can accept that. But if my site (and this board in particular) is lagging behind, I need to know about it. I thought about putting this topic in the "voting booth", but couldn't decide which board to stick it under So, 1 = unbearably slow 5 = slow 10 = everything is just fine   Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Calagari (30 posts) Jan-19-00, 04:04 AM (Pacific) 1. "RE: How's the speed/access time?" At different times I find the speed to vary. I live on the east coast. At 7 AM I load super fast. By 1PM it may take a bit longer. 3PM it seems to take forever. I don't think it is the board or your site. I think it is merely the net. Remember each week the amount of net users doubles. As others have said, the speed is very variable for me -- probably having much more to do with normal 'net issues then with your specific board. Its pretty much always faster than the VN.
