"Wizardry Archives"
I have Wizardry Archives and installed most of the games howvever, I get a divide overflow. I think that this is caused by the processor being too fast, so do any of you have a link to the best "processor crippler"?
Thanks

1. ""From the Bar""
Go back to softwarespecialties homepage, and you can find a couple of links for mo'slo under the heading "From the Bar." However, mo'slo may not be enough for some of today's blindingly-fast machines. I think a lot of folks have been using dosbox to run the old-time classics. Search the forums for "dosbox," and you should get a number of threads discussing how to set it up. (Sorry, I can't help you with that. I'm one of the lucky ones whose computer is slow enough to get by with less. )

I have installed DosBox, and get the credits to run and the password screen, but when I go to either load a saved game or start a new one I get a "disk error". All the files are loacted in C:\DSAVANT\, so I don;t know how there can be a disk error.

I suspect the path in the load prompt is not the path the savegames are located in.

For example, I start Dosbox with
"dosbox /home/myhome/Wizardry/DSAVANT/ -fullscreen" and in the flashing C:\ prompt I start the game with "ds". Here, the path to the savegames is then simply "C:".

Just take care as to what directory relative to your savegames your C: is assigned to.

Thanks, I finally figuered it out when I looked at the dos window, it kept indicating a file creation error, ie
Could not find/write to C:\DSVANT\DSAVANT\SAVEGAME.DBS so I changed the file location to just C: as you suggested and everything works now.

has anyone looked for new "cripplers" since mo'slo came out, or is this a case of "we already have something that works well enough"?

just wondering

P.S. good to be back
