1. "System specs?"
And what are you running this on? How fast PC, what operating system, etc. There are a few, very in depth threads on this very subject ... you may find them via the search feature ...

You might want to try reading the instructions that come with dosbox, it will help a lot.

Ike, try going into configuration, it is a menu item at startup, then set a save path on your hard drive in your wiz7 directory. I made a saves folder in mine, "C:\Savant\Saves". It is probably pointing at a location that cannot be saved to.

Keonandra, look at this thread: http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=82762248

There is a Doxbox config file there that may help you, try backing up your old dosbox.conf file (rename dosbox.conf.bak), then use notepad and copy and paste the one posted and save it as dosbox.conf and see if it works any better, or follow the link posted there to download one.

Dosbox needs a pretty fast computer to work well. I have a pentium 1.8 and Wiz 7 runs perfectly.

security clearance? Not really sure what you mean.

In the original dos version of the game, you have to input a password. There are some password lists around if this is your problem.

In the Wizardry Archives version, you do not need a password. Also, you don't need to have the cd in the tray. With the original release, I think you do.

Probably the reason your sound does not work with the overflow patch is because you don't have a legacy soundblaster driver/or compatable card.

There are some dosbox.conf files around that have been made to help get the game going. Try one of those.

To get any real help, you need to give us some more information about what version you are playing and where it came from, what problem you are exactly having.
