"Playing a downloaded version or from a cd."
Ok, well, I have the cd of this game, the old cd that tries to run in both DOS and Windows. And it won't run Windows through DOSBox and vice versa. I've tried what I could, but it wouldn't work. But I did find the original version for download somewhere. Although I try to install it and it tells me to put a SOURCE DISK A into the A drive. Since I downloaded all the files, I wouldn't think I'd have to do this, but it won't work without it I guess. Could someone help me with one of the two?

I don't believe I have ever heard of W7/Gold being available for download. I can only assume that it is a hack which, of course, is not supported on this board.

As for running the CD, this has been explained a few Nth times in this forum, and if you can not find the answer after searching for it let us know and dont be shy with your system/OS information and what version you are tyring to run.

There is a place to d/l the CD version of the game. Seeing as how you already owned it; I don't see a problem, especially since Sir-tech went under.

I can get my d/led version to work; but it locks up when I try to enter the character menu. It also refuses to take passwords at all; I have both the original (battered and taped together) manual, and the Ultimate Wizardry Archives version as well; and none of the answers work correctly. I don't know, however, if that's due to the game not working properly, or due to the passwords being changed from the disk to cd versions. Or if it's just being gay. I've about given up on this game, and all wizardry games along with it.

I'm going out on a limb here....

It is to my knowledge that Crusaders won't work in anythign but the driectory "dsavant". DOSBox mounts the individual directories as the C: Drive.... So it could be due to the game looking and not finding the game in the proper directory of dsavant, instead thinking it's in the root directory. I haven't run across this problem in some 60 games, so I don't know if that's the problem, but it may be it.
