"Wizardry Gold - Stuck in Orkogre Forest"
Okay, here's what happened:

I finished Orkogre Castle except the spectral ravens, then went on to Munkharama. Forgot the moonstone anyway, so I went back to New City and intended to make a quick stop at Orkogre to kill the ravens finally and get the Gem of Power.
Then - never experienced that before, though I'm playing the game for years now -
Whenever the map switches to the Orkogre section (north of the intersection West of New City (north - Orkogre; west - Munkharama Bridge), I'm stuck in orkogre forest. That means, when I'm trying to get back south the New City, a tree blocks the path. Same thing up north when trying to get to the intersection (east to Dion., west to Rattkin Ruins) - another tree blocks the path. On the path, where you meet Galiere in the first, he's back again and immediately fights you (by the way, I did give him the letter of boerigard earlier on). next strange thing: The entrance (the ladder in the clearance) leading to Orkogre Castle can't be used. You can try to climb down as often as you like - nothing happens. And finally, funnily Trk. Rhallick runs around in the same area. Tried to get him to talk, but my diplomacy skills suck. And then, when I fought him, killed him and his gang, two squares ahead I ran into him again as though he was never killed!

Can please somebody help me??? I already tried savegames from earlier, but as soon as I get into the orkogre area, I'm stuck!!

1. "Known bug in Wizardry Gold "
Known, but probably the least known of the bugs. No one knows how it happens, it just happens ... things get corrupted. The only two known options are:

1) Start over ... completely
2) Transplant your party into a non-corrupt saved game (requires advanced skills, like knowledgeof the saved game layout, a hex editor, etc.)

If you are interested in option #2, let me know ... I have done it before for others.

Known???

I was browsing the web for quite some time...

Actually, I feel quite comfy about the save game layout, what do I have to do?
Otherwise - should I somehow forward you the savegame so you can fix that prob?

Geeze, thanks anyways.

3. "Known "
To me, and to a few others, at least on this board.

The "fix" I did before was cut and paste the party from the corrupt game into a brand new game (because that person did not keep regressive saves). This effectively takes your party back to "ground zero" and you have to do everything over again.

If you have any saves that are not corrupt, you can use that and save some backtracking.

The party info is at the end of the saved game layout ... look for the first character name and cut and paste from there.

4. "RE: Known "
worse happens, like getting stuck in Dane Tower, where the ladder doesn't work and the Stairs just lead to an empty 1x1 room, just like an archway. you can see this and other corruption if you load a savegame, then load a text file or some other non-savegame file. you'll see it sooner or later

5. "I can try to help"
I need scenario.dbs (scenario.gld if you have gold version) and your saved file.

Though I doubt that scenario will be required, but just in case...

You can find my mail in the readme file shipped with may editor
