"Please save the greenhorn ;)"
Well...after several attempts of finishing W8 (the last was solo FN, don't know why but my ninja always get mad when I received Destinae Dominus...even wearing the helm of something...don't remember the name) and spending many hours just to read this forum (both W8 and W7) I'd like to start play in Wiz Gold. But of course my twisted nature doesn't allow me to start without good preparation. So I need a clues about party creation:

1) how many rolls I shoud make..I mean which value of bonus will satisfy my will and will not take a week from my life ;)

2) about class shifting...didn't practice in W8 so I need an explanation when, how and why I shoud do this (pls notice that I want to do this;)

3) pls give me few versions of starting party (race/proffesion) remembered that class shifting will take place

4) what are the necessery software, debuggers, patches for Wgold. Must be for free becouse in Poland PayPal isn't working

5) Does all secrets of WGold are completely revealed (I mean scenario secrets)?

1) how many rolls I shoud make..I mean which value of bonus will satisfy my will and will not take a week from my life ;)
at least a 15 for basic classes (fighter, mage, priest, thief, bard, valkyrie is recommended, though certainly not necessary. for the more elite classes, roll for an 18 minimum, so you can distribute a few extra points for your Rawulf Lord, for example, or give your Felpurr Samurai more Vitality for Stanima (they do seem to tire easily at lower levels), or max out your Bishop/Mage/Priest's Intelligence and/or Piety to get the awesome spells like Nuclear Blast much sooner.
if your trying for a Faerie Ninja, it's going to take a roll of 19 to get it, but, that roll is impossible to achieve in WizGold (or so I'm told), and a 21 roll is the minimum WizGold will give you for a Faerie Ninja oppurtunity, which leaves you with 2 bonus points to distribute to your liking.

2) about class shifting...didn't practice in W8 so I need an explanation when, how and why I shoud do this (pls notice that I want to do this;)
Class changing is different in Wiz 8, limited in some forms. characters become say, a level 10 ninja after the class change, but don't get the previous ninja levels. unless your into super powerful characters through extreme dedication.
in Wiz 7, it is much simpler. a character after changing classes, goes through a few changes. the Attributes (Stregnth, etc.) go down to the minimum class and race values. an elf mage -> priest will get 7 STR, 10 Int, 12 Pie, 7 Vit, 9 Dex & Spd, and 8 Per, level goes down to 1, and your HP and Mana go up by 1 per level, until you surpass your old class (change when mage is level 7, , then at mage level 8 s/he will gain the normal Priest HP).
However, rememeber that when you class change, your farther into the game, so the monsters are moer powerful and yield greater XP, so level ups come faster, especially if you know where to look ;)

3) pls give me few versions of starting party (race/proffesion) remembered that class shifting will take place
basic party:
2 Male Lizardman Fighters
Faerie Thief
Female Felpurr/Dracon Bard
Faerie Mage
Female Gnome/Dwarf Priest

good starting party, and after a while, feel free to class change the fighters to Ranger, Samurai, Lord, Monk, or Ninja, and the thief to a Ninja (feel free to use the ranger or Samurai as a stopgap until he gains the stats for ninja (ninjutsu is needed as a Samurai, and helps the Ninja's AC), while the Mage and Priest can go to Bishop, after level 10, when they have plenty of Thaumaturgy or Theology, and can learn the other's spells.

4) what are the necessery software, debuggers, patches for Wgold. Must be for free becouse in Poland PayPal isn't working

Mad God's Wizardry 7 Viewer, now named Cosmic Forge Edit, for it works on Wiz 6 as well, is one must have.
http://www.iosphere.net/~eric/wizardry/
another is the WizGold Patch, which is a replacement for the main executable, Wizard.exe

5) Does all secrets of WGold are completely revealed (I mean scenario secrets)?
through Mad God's Editor, everything possible in a Scenario is now known, maybe except for one or 2 things. the game only has a limited number of possible paths, that depend on your choices, and if you accidentally type something wierd, it justs asks the question again, in most cases. known as a Parser, in tech terms, it looks for specific words or phrases in your typed message, then shows the results of your choice.
even spots in the world which never have found in game, have been foudn via CosmicForge, like monster battles, passable walls, and the like.

3. "Avoid The Madness"
While still in conversation screen with Mad Marten, open your inventory (click 'trade', then your char's portrait) and put the DD in the personal inventory of the character wearing the Helm of Serenity. Nobody goes insane then.

4. "Huh?"
I don't recall Mad Martin being in Wizardry 7: Crusadors of the Dark Savant, nor the Destinae Dominus, nor even a Trade button, and I have played it through a few times.

5. "Huh yourself..."
if you'll notice my response is to the original post that started this thread, and answers the first (almost) question, which is posed in W-8.
