"Wiz Gold patch does not work"

Dave in the basement (13 posts) Aug-30-04, 11:00 AM (Pacific) "Wiz Gold patch does not work" Hello! I have been trying to stumble across some help for Wizardry Gold, and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Anywho, I am trying to update from version 1.0 to the 1.1a1 patch, and the patch will not execute. Everytime I try it, it kicks me out and gives me the generic 'send error report?' Microsoft message. I am running Windows XP, and have tried running the patch using the various compatability modes, as well as DOS. Please let me know if you need any more information, or if you have any ideas to help me out. If not, I'll have to see if I can transfer my ooooooooold 5.25 floppies to 3.5 and going that route. "RE: Here is how it should go" it's not thinking when that is how it is done, the file contained in the ZIP file is named Wizard.exe, which is a replacement for the original file in the WizGold folder, which is usually C:\WizGold or D:\WizGold (btw, spelling is exact; the G is capitalized in the name, which is rare) the 1.1a patch fixes the 100 point skill bug, where if all your character's skills are maxed out, you couldn't get out of the Level up screen.   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
