This game looks really good as far as graphics go, a really "dark" feel to it. It reminded me a lot of Thief: The Dark Project. If you liked Thief, you'll probably like this one. There is a 75MB demo you can download, that lets you play two chapters or pieces of the game - that's what my review is based on.At first, I thought it was a pretty shallow game - to much "ground hog day" effect - if I step here, this will happen; if I wait, this guard will walk by; .... always the same.
Then I got to another part in the game, where I had to pass by some soldiers. When I attacked them with a fireball, they used their shield to deflect it back at me! Quite a surprise And they wouldn't stay in a spot where I could attack them, if they could not get at me (unlike Diablo) - they kept moving and would eventually try to come after me.
There is a little puzzle solving, nothing really intricate - but again, this was only the demo. I guess I 'd classify it as a FPS (first person shooter), but it's far from being a Quake or Doom, where the emphasis is on "shooter".
This is far from a "Wizardry 7", but one I plan to get it from a bargain rack when I see it there.
