After enough frustration ... I went to a few walkthroughs. They say I need the Bone key, which I have ... but it won't work. I thnk I jammed the lock, in trying to open it, before I found that key.Is there anyway to fix this? I tried casting Pry, which says it can unlock jammed locks, but since this "was" a "something special is needed" lock ... I am doubting that will work. It looks like this is keeping me from progressing on to the Temple (past teh spyhnx) and to the next set of lands to the east.
I (of course) have incremental saves, but the only ones prior to reliazing I had jammed this all-importnat lock, is upon entering Brimloch Roon.
It sounds like an alternative is to get someone up to the skill to pick it ... but my bard has not been training that skill much. I suppose I could switch his class to Ninja, that way he would level up fast ... adn I could train on locks during each level up ...
Any other options?

Doh! I was at the wrong friggin' door. There was one door that had a lock (that blends in very well with the back ground texture) that I was mistaking for the door where the Lich was.BTW, I did change class, drop everyone, so my warlock->bard-become-ninja would get all the experience for all kills. Trained him every level in locks and traps, for 4 levels (he went from a skill level of about 4->8 in no time ... ran over, picked the lock ... found it was the wrong door ... DOH!
So, reloaded the more recent save, back to the castle, at the door with the music ... used the key .. et Voila!
Now, the search for the relic and "bad" vampires ensues.
