two things have got me stumped:
first time i start the game i get gareth telling me what to do just outside the inn in valeia. second time around (completely new party) gareth is a no show...

also the only buildings i can enter in valeia are the inn, the tavern, the armory and the temple. i can't for the life of me find the town hall or the magic shoppe

any help greatly appreciated

Question...did you tell the game to restart the whole adventure? Because unless you did that, Gareth will not show up because the other adventure is basically still in progress.

I feel like a complete idiot, but I am having this same problem! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I know there is some way to get onto the other side of the town, but I can't figure out how to get there.
HELP ME!!!!

It has been a while but don't you just scroll left? Click on an arrow or the side of the screen?

Use the arrow keys to scroll either left or right. But until you get a party set up, you won't be able to enter a few places in the town of Valeia.

Does that makes sense and help you out?

Actually, I think it might be a real software issue. I've been having the exact same problem since I installed on a winXP system with the newest stuff. Basically, the buildings are there, but when you move the cursor over them they don't light up and nothing happens when you click. I know it used to work fine on an older (winME) system. I'm currently trying a reinstall with the 'minimal' option, so we'll see what happens with that. I've tried both direct3d and software rendering, with no difference.

Update: The reinstall didn't seem to make any difference.
