"A comment from Linda about this latest flurry of news"

I just wanted to stop by and let you all know that there is really nothing any different than yesterday. As you know, back in July we announced layoffs but cited our complete intentions to bring Wiz 8 to market. That is still the case. Wiz 8 WILL be released.

We have mentioned previously that unless funding for future products could be obtained, that Sirtech would no longer develop titles. That too is still the case, though as time passes, more and more of us who were involved in the development of Sirtech products will move on to other employment.

Sirtech Canada does continue to exist as a legal and operating entity for the purposes of supporting the release of Wiz 8. At this time, there are no plans for Sirtech Canada to develop further product.

I hope that clears things up at least to say that there is nothing any different about the release plans of Wiz 8.

And that's the end. I've just bought Planescape Torment and forget about W8 at all. I spent here a lot of time and I really don't believe we will see this game, because there is no publisher and employees are elsewhere... Bye everyone and thanks for this great board. Especially you LLevram you have done great work for our entertainment.

... I can't help but feel you will miss out on the best part (once it is released). Well, maybe we will see you after Planescape.

I was just saying that it is supposed to be released soon (per the current quasi-rumor mill - i.e. reading between the lines of Linda's earlier post ... "games coming out int the next two months" ...). Once *it* is released, *it* is what Jan K will be missing out on.

You may or may not be right about release of this game. All programmers who worked on it left. It's not good sign for potential publisher. If i was him, I will even break such a deal. Second possibility: publisher has already signed contract (which is in my opinion only chance for game to be published at all) and he want's to admit it after all necessary preparations as box and manual are ready. I just lose my patience, because I phoned to our distributor and he told me, that he won't bother with bringing the game here even if it will be published as he was sceptic. For me it's not possible to buy it via VISA or Mastercard, because in CZ it's really impossible to obtain them. Since I am now working 8 to 12 hours a day, I am not able to leave country and buy it in adjacent Germany. But I won't bother with personal details. I finished W7 for fifth and last time (on expert) in 7 and half day without any cheat. This is the last time for me, because there really wasn't nothing for me in the game. All secrets revealed, no challenge at all (except for the beast ). -- I did it just to cut my waiting time for w8 and make the best party I've ever had. -- So that's just the last word for explaining although you may be right, that if the game will be published I may return.

It is very very sad that Sir Tech is going to be no more, sounds like we will see Wiz 8, but what about Wiz 9?? Over many interviews Linda said that work had already started on Wiz9. How much has been done on it I wonder?? Can another company employ the key staff and rights to keep Wiz9 going??

cheers
