"Help! I'm addicted!"

I am so glad to be back at GRPGF. I whimpered every time I went here and saw the under construction sign. I was so desperate I went to the vault, and hungrily read the posts from familiar names and a few Anon that seemed to be in a familiar style, shuddered at the jerks, and then before I shut down the computer went back here to see if my half hour tour of the web that morning you were back on...sigh. But at last, my dreams have been answered and I am a whole woman again. Who needs coffee, It is GRPGF that will do the trick....joan

I know the feeling...

I had to wait a few extra days until my ISP udated the info that Llevram had done. It was looking like I was not going to get back in here at all. The last night, I tried it and I am back too.

You went to Vault...you are a braver woman than I. That place drives me crazy and I hate having to re-apply for a password every so often.

Me too. It must be contagious. I was away for 6 weeks.(No computer access whatsoever) In the middle of the 6 weeks my brother came for a visit and brought his laptop, so I did get to pop on the forum just toward the end of July. Then nothing for 3 weeks again. I didn't think it would be so difficult. It is good to be back.

I was cruising the other board (no, not that one - the DCForums boards) looking for the fix to the "no signature for users with a space in their name" bug. And reading through some of the other "hacks" (how that became a glamourous or even preferred term is beyond me ), there was some cool stuff.

Nothing I am going to implement right away, since many of the things the author agreed were in the "nice to have/fairly easy to implement" category (especially when people provided the idea and solution ).

Things like flaming folders icons for threads with over <pick a number> posts, preventing accidental double posts, showing the number of users currently online (or even their usernames, ability to mark read messages for unregistered users, ....

Also, it is glad to hear how much people love the board. I guess the old addage of "... until it's gone" still holds true
