Hey there players of W&W! I need help with the starting the game. Whenever i start game it shows me the error mesage:The instruction at 00423dba referenced memory at 01920000...and so on. I was doing reserches and i find out that there is problem with resolution. My computer can't have less than 800x600, but game at startup need 640x480, so i cant run it because of that. All im asking is the file named gameopt(cuz it creates when u run game completely, and i dont have it) so i can configure it with HeX editor and make resolution 800x600. Thanks inwards :-D

Well if I had the game installed, I could help you out ... but even if you got it running at an unsupported resolution, you might have further issues.

Go to the Ironworks W&W forum, there you will find the hex code of the gameopt file. You'll have to edit it yourself, but it is only 96 bytes.

It is the correct solution for your error code, I had exactly the same problem.

The game starts now, I can create a party and leave the city. Once outside, I can't enter the city again because the targeting doesn't work. The mouse pointer simply doesn't recognize gates, items, monsters. This is very probably a problem caused by newer Nvidia graphic cards and I have found no way to fix this.

On my older PC the game now runs perfectly under XP.

One more hint: if the game crashes when opening chests, try different settings for the compatibility mode. I didn't believe it, but it actually seems to work.
