I had a team get it recently, but I have no idea where. Probably in a chest in Rapax Castle. Since Fang and Ivory Blade are guaranteed finds, and the Light Sword is 50% guaranteed if you know how to get it, there isn't much use for Blade Cuisinart by the time you get it.

This might be the 2nd time out of 15 teams that I have seen it.

(I am obsolete )

Check here for full details: http://www.flamestryke.com/wizardry8/flamestrykes_w8.html

I am in awe of this site ... as I have said before, Flamestryke has done what I wanted to do (but did it better than I probably woudl have).

Hardly.

Flame's site is great, no disputing that, and I regularly refer to it for W8 questions. (Perhaps my only complaint: it's hard to compare weapons, armor, etc., because you can only view the stats of one item at a time. Mindflay's site (no longer available, was at www.mindflay.com, presented the information in a table format, so you could compare all swords, for example).

That being said, I STILL use Wiz7Item (Beta) and WizEdit on a regular basis. As we all know, old wizardries do not become "obsolete." They are timeless. Consequently, so are the tools that we use with them.

I'm such a fool. Lana's site even allows these side-by-side comparisons: you just have to use the "Printable Item Pages." She is a true goddess of W8 information.

Errrr ...? 50% drop chance? How do you get the odds that high?

Light shield maybe, frontier phaser possiblely, sword I don't think so.

"boosting the odds"

I have gotten it, maybe once, from the Buccaneer Ghosts. The single sentry chest is faster and more reliable.

Approach Bayjin from the Nessie side. When you get close to the Nessie Skeleton, Stop, fix up all your shields and ammo and spellpower levels, then save game. Enter Bayjin and run down the causeway. Eliminate the temple guy. Check radar and wait for the monsters near the single sentry chest to clear out of the way. Charge straight at the red dot guarding the chest. Open the door, fight, CLOSE THE DOOR.

Save the game with a different name. Open the chest. If it blows and does major damage and you get the sword, reload the "different name". If it has good stuff, save the game WITH Another DIFFERENT NAME, reload the original savegame and try again.

I usually give up around try 20-25. The "another different name" file usually has frontier phasers or light shield or whatever.

Llevram, you are old enough to know better. The fact that there are two possible outcomes does NOT mean that each outcome is equally likely. Let's say that I paint over a six-sided die, so that it has "1" on five faces and "0" on the last face. Assuming it is correctly balanced, my chances of rolling a "0" are 1 in 6, and my chances of rolling a "1" are 5 in 6. The two possible outcomes ("0" and "1") are NOT 50-50.

Back to school with you, young man.

(Read up on Pascal, the man who "invented" the study of probabilities to solve - of all things - a dispute among his gambling friends about how much should be paid out when they had to stop a particular game before completion.)

So, what *are* the odds with this one? (I am just now in the area - unless you mean the sunken ship, I have lost my chance - I got to the sunken ship, killed Nessie, and have opened Davey Jones' Locker).... Oh, Excalibur was in the Locker but I haven't anyone who can use it. Vi cried about a sea monster so I let her go. H

Mary: "I'd say more like one in a million."
Lloyd: "So, you're saying there's a chance!"

I think it was like 1.7%

The second post, from Llevram, gives you link to a web page that lists where to get the item you're looking for.

It's a nearly complete list of all available treasure and where to find them. Including requirements, if any, needed to acquire the item.
