Well, my Wife got me a DVD player for my B-day. That alone would not derail me from the board, working on my programs, the internet chess server, ...

But the clincher ... she also got me Monty Python's Holy Grail

So, if you don't "see" me anymore (or not as often) you know why (or that I broke down and got the Planet of the Apes DVD box set, Kentucky Fried Movie, Princess Bride, Dr. Strangelove, ... )

This is why I hadn't bought the dang player yet

Can't recommend this one highly enough -- but my question is if you just got a DVD player, and W&W is about to be shipped, are you planning on skipping work for the next month or so?

Just out of curiosity (I'm something of a dvd fanatic) which one did you get?

It would have been JVC if Costco took anything but Discover & American Express Everything else in the rack is JVC and is my brand of choice, so we may take it back and fork out the extra $10 for the JVC player.

My buddy at work keeps reminding me about the PotA box set and (every other DVD he gets), since I turned him on to half.com.

But, now that I do have one, I will probably be tapping his library (Army of Darkness, Matrix, ... probably skip some of the olfer B&W Draculas and such that he picked up )

If you mean "Nosferatu: Symphony of Horror" then skip it only at the risk of never seeing one of the finest films ever made, and THE horror film that haunted all my nightmares as a child.

Yes, that is the one ... I guess I will have to rethink that one and give it a try.

Much obliged

Rick...dunno if you know about it, actually i would say few people do (probably just people who frequent the HTF), but CompUSA is doing a clearance sale on the majority of their dvds, where most are going for $14.88. Depending on where you are, the pickings may be slim though.

I've got the Panasonic A320 player Now that I actually have a positive cashflow, been going a bit nuts with putting together the whole shebang(speaker system). Up to about 40 dvds...once you start, you can't stop.
