"Problem"

Posted by Lady_Adrexia on May-24-01 at 04:49 AM
I noticed posts that were made with my old account, but when I click on them to get into the forum the messages are gone. Does someone have access to my old account?? Can we delete it?

Where are you seeing these phantom posts? I usually review every post on the board and I don't recall seeing any "Lady Adrexia" posts since you started using "Lady_Adrexia".

I can delete the old account, but then it will not resolve if people try to click on one of those posts to email you - no big deal really. Or I could change the passsword.

I got it in the group email notification that I get each night. I just emailed it to you...so that you can look. I think that we still have a hacker on board here. He/she better leave my darn account alone. I noticed that the messages aren't still here, so maybe they are looking for your account instead.

Could you please delete the account? If someone wants to answer me, then I will come to the board and answer them. I don't check the individual email notification boxes anywho.

"Bug, not hacker"

There is a bug in the nightly notificatons, in that it attaches the wrong message information, when it is referencing a forum that has archives (only 300 active threads are allowed per forum, so the Wiz 7 & 8 forums meet this criteria).

So, though it shows you (Lady Adrexia) posted a message yesterday, it really pulled that information from last June. So, someone did post yesterday in the Wiz 8 forum, but beyond that, the "information" in the subscription is questionable at best.

(*kicking myself*) I did not realize the extent of this problem/bug and should have addressed it long ago. This weekend, the new forum software will be installed and that will take care of that problem.

Sorry for the confusion.
