"New Bane scenario"

Well, its not going to be a massive deviation from the original, but using the fantastic editors provided I am currently working on making some subtle changes to the game. Mostly this revolves around new and modified items for seldom taken classes to mix the game up a bit, and a few changes to the terrain. Not sure how it will pan out, but if there is a genuine interest I will put some effort into releasing it as a mod!

There hasn't been much enthusiasm! For myself, I'd say I would play it after I have cycled through my favourites (2 last Wizardrys, Master of Magic, Fantasy General and perhaps M&M). As everybody knows, games like those aren't made anymore...

Hey, emeraldFN!
I'm with you on W7, W8, MoM and MM6.
Have not stumbled upon Fantasy General though. Maybe I got to try to find it...To supersonic:
Hey man! If you don't mind, I'll give you an advise: change anything you like and as many as you like. Why? Because having done W7 mod I now regret I have changed so few things. I should have been more firm!
And I bet your mod will be very welcome at least by few of us.
P.S. I'm glad you have used the editor.

PS and OT: Pick General Marcas. Heavy infantry rules in this game...

Its going pretty well, have made many new weapons, and making subtle changes and renames to existing ones. The terrain doesnt update until you start a neew game rather than with a save, so testing is taking its time lol.

<<<<<<<<Ah, yes. In W6 the whole maps are stored in the save file, whereas in W7 they only store events' activated/deactivated flags. So when changing maps in W6 you got to start a new game. Very annoying. Thou art a hero to make a mod in such conditions.
I can help you here. I'll try to find some time and to make functionality to transfer map changes into a saved game file (I hope the research won't take a lot of time here). Of course, only if you need this. Do you need this? In this case I assume that loading your saved game will be equal to start a new game in the certain place with strong party.

It would be very useful - but I can probably do without: don't spend too much time on it! Thankyou.I have been wondering about the spells - are there any plans for a spell editor ie the names, magic values and even damage ranges?

Spells' parameters are hardcoded in W6 and W7.
You can change names only. They can be changed in the Text Editor. Since they are 'Game Internal Texts' tick the check-box 'Also show Game Internal Texts' on and then use search for fireball. There is little you cannot change in the editor for w6:
1. PIC files (monsters)
2. Frame info for PIC files (determines when and which Frames are shown when a monster performs an action or idling).
3. Nothing more comes up to mind. Other things are hardcoded.
