Flamestryke's Site isn't working. I hope she is ok. Does anyone know if it will be back soon? I really enjoy her mods and info.

Feburary must have been the last month it was paid for. She has been very ill - I haven't heard anything from her for quite awhile. I pray - I hope she makes it - but last word was not good.

I join you with thoughts of well wishes, as I am sure we all do. I ha dheard off and on that she was in poor health, but had no idea it was so serious.

It was not good at all. Here is her post from 10/22 on the VN board:

OK this is all the information to I have been told to date. I told The oncologist I wanted the unvarnished truth so here we are.

I have a few months. I will start a chemotherpy series tomorrow. If I am not allergic to it, apparently there is a high risk of this, then we will continue with the chemo. If the chemo slows the growth of the tumors it will buy me a little more time. The amount of time is of course unknown at this moment until we see just how it slows tumor growth.

If the chemo drugs work to reverse the size of the tumors and the tumors go away, then I will be in what we call remission. I would have more time and would need to be monitored regular for any recurrence of cancer growth.

So that is my current situation. I have no idea how my body will react to chemo but right now I am quite tired most of the time. I may not pop in very often but I will try to read emails and check the board as often as possible.

She did post a few times after that, but not much lately.
Her last post was 11/12/07 and her last log in was 12/11/07.

I am so sorry to hear that. I talked to her a couple of years ago. She was having trouble then. I was hoping things would stay good for her. She'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

I copied the site onto my hard disk some time ago, so I would be able to access it when away from the 'net (or when the site was down. I'm pretty sure that process did not capture the mods or outside links, but I'll bet I have all of the information, so the site could be re-established, if necessary.

I wouldn't know how to do that, myself, although I suspect it is not all that complicated. Let us just pray that would not be the Flamestryke MEMORIAL Site.

Flame, if you're still up enough to drop by occasionally, we all wish you well.

The site is back up, but I have no idea who paid the bill. I have not seen anything of Lana for most of 3 months.

If it comes down to money, I can probably host her site on mine for free ... I mean mine is already paid for and it wouldn't cost me anything to host her content.

Rick if you can do it there is too much there for it to be totally gone like that.

Interesting that she did after all end up trying real medical treatments for her cancer. I was in contact with her after she was diagnosed and up until about some months before she passed and at the time she was going with 'Naturopathic' scams which I warned her were a bad idea (being a card-carrying skeptic I was and am all too familiar with the hows and whys of how 'alternative medicine' does not work). She seemed perturbed by my saying this so I quickly dropped the matter.

One thing about cancer though is that if you put off real medical treatments (for whatever reason) but then get fearful enough later to give them a try then your chances are greatly diminished.

An awesome lady who put more work into her sites for several great RPGs than %95 of sites on the internet.

I went to the old site (2007) address and there it was! The Snafaru message above gives the current site's real name but her site in that form looks like the past site.

Thanks so much everybody,

Frank
