"Programming Question"

I am looking for resources to help me program a first person perspective RPG resembling Wizardry. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

If so email me exinferis@email.com

Thanks,

Ex Inferis

Well, the direction you should take depends on where you are coming from. First, I would suggest you take an Introduction to Computers course, then get back to me

Seriously, I would love to be doing the same thing (not the intro course - did that 20+ years ago). There are soooo many things to consider for such an undertaking. If you want to say where you are in the process, I would be willing to try to offer direction. The log files of the Wiz 8 team (if they are still on the VN boards) might be good reading.

A guy at work turned me on to this cool web application - www.webmap.com. If you go there (gotta have Explorer - Netscapers need not apply ) and download and install their software, it gives you a visual "map", kind of like a star chart, of the 'net. If you double click a category, it will "drill down".

Follow the path of Games and you can just get lost from there Take a path like Games and you can drill down to Game creation systems->Game creation systems sites. Or go Games->Game Industry->Game Design, or Games->Roleplaying->Systems-M to R->Macho Women with Guns (really, it is there ).

Happy exploring ...
