"Wiz 8 Item Modifications"

Lana on the VN Board has released some item modifications for Wiz 8, using Mad God's editor. They look nice, except for the Staff of Charming. That item has two different ways of crashing my copy of Wiz 8.

As I mentioned at the VN Boards that issue was resolved within a few hours of the mod's release. The newest version of the mod no longer has that issue and includes even more items.

For anyone interested in giving the mod a test drive the download is now available at the following url:

http://www.flamestryke.com/wizardry8/miscdataw8/modnewsw8.html

Included in the zip are some text files, a readme among them, and an Excel workbook which details most of the modifications made. From changing certain item graphics and correcting some things to the creation of totally new items. The readme contains directions for installing and uninstalling the mod which is very simple and easy.

There are a few things about the mod not perfected yet such as items whose graphics were changed. An example would be a potion of cure poison. The bottle is now green but if unidentified it reads Purple Potion. I am consulting Mad God on how to edit this currently and hope to add that as soon as possible.

Yay I've got it !

Congratulations to Mad God and Flamestryke for the excellent work they are doing.

I got a Spirit Stick from the Oaks in the Blue Marble Temple last night. Never got one there before. Coincidence ? Who knows what these two are up to ...

Flamestryke is up to release 1e now and it looks really nice. Mad God is getting new information on the data files and is upgrading his editor to do even more. If you haven't checked it out yet, get the mod and start a new team.

Works great with transfer teams too, but any "Wiz 7 only" items that transfer can become something else. De-equip them before transferring.

I have just now downloaded and stsrted a group in the "new" game. I can't see any of the changes when i look in Cosmic Forge--all the old items are still there. Did you do that on purpose? now will i need a new editor if i want to see specifics on all the random-drop items that i miss? or does it have something to do with where the editor is looking for the info--and how do i fix that?

Nevermind, i can give myself everything using the editor from Wizardryrealms, it's all under the old names though, which happened whenever i used Cosmic Forge anyway...

You need to get a new version of the Editor to view the changes you talked about.
