"Dosbox"

Thanks to all the people who answered my last post. I had just about given up hope. Also, Thanks for posting all of the info about Dosbox. I downloaded it and some how was able to get the game to load properly. However, I am still having some trouble getting it to run right. for some reason, my main problem seems to be that the game is running way too slow. It takes for ever to scroll between screens. I tried fooling with the delay command but I really don't know what I'm doin' there.

I also am really not to sure how to use dosbox. I keep getting a Z prompt and am unable to get past that. I tried following the instructions in their README file but I can't seem to make the "\" sign when I need to so I can get anywhere there.

Can anyone tell me in simple terms how to play the game using Dosbox? And, how to speed the game up so that it doesn't take so long to change screens?

Finally, I can't get any sound. Is there a simple way to resent my computer so that I can get some sound.

Thanks again.

BG

1. Speed - see DOSBOX README (cycles, frameskip), e.g. CTRL F11/F12 - change the cycles

2. \ sign - often discussed on DOSBOX board !!! - in short: you are probably using non-English keyboard in Windows and combination Alt + <somthing> does not work. The simplest solution is to use English keyboard (every Windows version enables to change kb layout easily).

3. Sound in Wizardry 6 - set PC Speaker (of course in you computer, you must have soundcard - PC speaker is emulated through soundcard).

READ THE DOSBOX FORUM ON SOURCEFORGE !!! THE QUESTIONS 1 AND 2 WERE ANSWERED THERE AT LEAST 10 TIMES !!!

THANKS,

BUT THERE WAS NO NEED TO GET PREACHY. I LOOKED AT THE SOURCEFORGE PAGE AND I READ THE READ ME FILE. I EVEN TRIED TO USE THE F11/F12 KEYS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I ALSO KNOW MY KEYBOARD ISN'T AN ENGLISH ONE SINCE I LIBE IN AN NON=ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY. UNFORTUNATELY, EVEN AFTER READING THE SOURCEFORCE STUFF I STILL WASN'T SURE HOW TO GET THE GAME TO WORK. THAT'S WHY I ASKED FOR ADVICE HERE. I DIDN'T ASK FOR ATTITUDE.

I am not the brightest on computers so this may sound a little dumb. I was able to get Wiz 7 working with sound and all. However, i cannot save a game. It keeps saying that I am using the wrong directory or path. What are you using?
