"ADOM"

Has anyone here ever played ADOM?

If you haven't I highly recommend it. As far as graphics go it's rogue-like but it's a very in depth story and has rich character development and just overall good game development and systems.

The author is working on a newer version called JADE which will be similiar but even richer.

Here is the home page: www.adom.de

For those (like me) that don't know what "rogue-like" games are, it means in lieu of graphics, the display is ASCII characters.

Nope, too busy playing poker at the moment ... and to be honest the ASCII graphics seem less than appealing. But, if it was a good enough game, I could overlook that ...

It took me a bit to overlook it as well but Im glad I did. It has a unique story line and like I said, really good character development.

Also, like the Wizardry series there are multiple endings and often your actions and what you do has consequences in the game and at certain times in the game you have to make a choice between one route and another. Sometimes these consequences are immediate and other times it you don't see them until much later.
