So I am plodding along with my lvl 7 ish monk (I have pretty much had a monk with my name in every party that mattered from Wiz 6 through 8), who is to be honest kind of sucking. Then my martial arts skill eclipses 50 and he really starts kicking but. Suddenly he is attacking more than 2 times per round (hands and feet) and now he throws in an extra swing with some of the attacks as well.

Is the attack (sword, martial arts, ect.) attribute the controlling factor on multiple attacks? How much effect does speed have? Or does speed effect multiple attacks while skill effects multiple swings?
