"Guido Henkel"

Slightly Off-Topic, but I've just read this very old article (February 2002) in German about Guido Henkel:
http://www.pcgames.de/?menu=060301&article_id=32590&page=1

He was an important person behind the Realms of Arkania (The Dark Eye - conversion) - Trilogy as well as Planescape: Torment, one of the best RPGs ever, in my opinion.

What I didn't know is that he was offered to produce Wiz8, but he refused the offer, because Sir-Tech was situated at the canadian border. He shun away from the cold winters he expected there.

That's a pity, it would have been interesting to see, what Guido had transformed the Wizardry-Series into!?!

Best regards
Kuli

This is the relevant part: I tried to improve the translation a bit...

"After the jump over the pond (= Guido's move from Germany to the USA) Guido had to decide, where he wanted vocationally. Sir Tech, the close Canadian border settled, offered him to produce Wizardry 8: "that was naturally extremely delightful." With the thought to the winter weather in the north Guido however the desire passed. "I did not want to go from the frying pan into the oven." (?) Because his wife worked at new World Computing and Guido with the colleagues made friends there, he came even into the vapor circle of another tradition series. Because new World Computing, that is the maker of Might & Magic."
