Great to see that this forum still exists! I was a regular here back when we were all waiting for Wizardry 8 - then just as it came out I was heading off to grad school and never had time to play it! Finally I'm dusting it off and trying to give it a try - I was surprised I even remembered my user name and password here, and recognize some of the people still posting.

My question though - I seem to have a strange bug where on the charater info screens text will be out of place - for example, where its supposed to list the attributes, strength is labelled "Base AC" or something like that. I'm running XP. I can figure it all out, but its a bit annoying. Anyone encounter this before?

I believe that you have a patch that didn't install properly. I seem to remember something along those lines from a long time ago. Good to see you around DrSlop.

Thanks - that was the problem... when I copied the patch over manually, it worked fine - so must have been something with how winzip handled the autoextraction.

Only played through the first dungeon, but am loving the game so far.

yes - sometimes to my chagrin.

I like to think of myself more of a general computer/OS person - but I know more about windows simply because it breaks more often and I have to fix it.

And guess what one of my new projects at work is?

VISTA!! - We got a beta copy Im using on a spare laptop to spec it out. UGH its not what I'd rather be doing.. but what can I say? It pays the bills!
