Trying to play wizardry 8 on my sony viao laptop, using a geforce 6400 video card. The game just doesnt load it just stays at desktop and if i try using the no cd exe i get a illegal error. The game runs fine on my desktop, both are using win xp pro with framework 2.0. i did update to 1.2.4 , im guessing its a esecure rom issue? anyone please help!!!

Have you tried running it in Compatibility Mode? Right click the Wiz8.exe file and click Properties, then Compatibility. Set it to Windows 95 or 98, and try running it again.

yah tried that , didnt do anything, im willing to bet anything its the securom, but even the nocd exe doesnt work, well it gets an illegal error. Is the game not compatible with gef 6400?

I have a GeForce 6600 GT and it runs fine. A little dark to start but the gamma correction took care of that.

If you have any USB stuff plugged in, try un-plugging it before you run the program. Also, run the setup program and switch around the display drivers, resolution, sound, etc... and let us know.

ill see if unplugging any usb devices works, ill see if it works in software mode too didnt think of that yet, thanks
